Melancholic Summer

I’ve dedicated the last 5 years to raising my two small children after leaving Miami to start a family in Ocala. It has been a beautiful season in life and I feel as if I am finally coming out of those parental trenches. Finding myself again as an artist, and getting my “pink” back. So it was only fair that I did a painting with a Flamingo, the only animal to lose it’s color to parenthood. And the only one to slowly get it back when that season ends. This is my first painting in five years, and I believe it suits the theme to an extent.
